The School of Applied Computational Sciences recently welcomed Drs. Damien Clark, Eugene Levin and Bishnu Sarker as members of its faculty.

“These new faculty bring a wide range of expertise and experience to our School,” says Dean Fortune Mhlanga. “I am delighted to have them on board to extend our mission to innovate, connect and serve through their impactful work as researchers and educators.“

While Dr. Clark’s primary role at Meharry Medical College is chief information officer, he also holds the position of associate professor for the School. He is a founding member of the Minority Serving – Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (MS-CC), a transformational partnership to advance cyberinfrastructure (CI) capabilities on HBCU, HSI, TCU, and MSI campuses, with data, research computing, teaching, collaboration, and capacity-building connections among institutions.

Dr. Levin, professor, spatial data science, is an expert in geospatial science and technology. He has more than 30 years of academic and industry experience in photogrammetry, geographic information system (GIS), WebGIS, mapping, remote sensing, cartography, 3D visualization, human factors, robotics, Lidar, If-SAR, UAV, and aerial and satellite product development.

Dr. Sarker is assistant professor of computer science and data science. He has hands-on research experience with designing and applying complex artificial intelligence and data science techniques for solving problems in the fields of health care, biology and drug discovery.
