Dr. Jane Yu

Jane Yu, M.D., Ph.D., is a digital transformation architect for Microsoft Corporation. She is a technology evangelist, solution architect and management consultant specializing in large-scale IT systems for data science, AI and machine learning. As a former medical scientist, she has extensive experience working alongside thought leaders within the health care and life science (HCLS) industry on initiatives designed to accelerate innovative research in clinical informatics, bioinformatics and computational biology.
Previously, as the HCLS industry executive for IBM Worldwide Systems and as a client engagement leader for Watson Health, she led data science initiatives and partner collaborations in genomics, precision medicine and drug discovery at commercial and academic organizations within North America, Europe and Asia. She has authored industry white papers on enterprise-scale, high-performance computing for HCLS applications, and frequently served as a speaker, panelist, and meeting facilitator at industry conferences—including HIMSS, BioIT World, NVIDIA GTC, and Supercomputing—on the topic of machine learning, accelerated big data analytics, and enterprise workload management infrastructure.
Dr. Yu began her professional career in clinical medicine and biomedical research, and she has authored articles in the areas of auditory neurophysiology and computational neuroscience. She is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she received an M.D. and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, specializing in systems neuroscience. She received her bachelor’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
