The School of Applied Computational Sciences fosters development of actively funded biomedical data science research collaborations internally throughout Meharry Medical College. SACS also collaborates with external institutions and research centers in several areas, such as discovery related to COVID-19, high performance computing, drug development, genomic big data for analysis, studies of complex human diseases, and other complex issues.
Internal R&D Collaborations
The School of Applied Computational Sciences is providing technical support, resources and expertise to numerous cutting-edge research and development projects at Meharry. The discovery made and the novel technologies developed are serving society in many ways, such as advancing health outcomes, precision medicine, and understanding COVID-19 health disparities.
External R&D Collaborations
The faculty at the School of Applied Computational Sciences are applying their expertise to many cutting-edge research and development projects, such as discovery related to COVID-19, the development of critical medical instruments and a novel method for the diagnosis of measles, and harnessing mHealth data to help treatment of hematologic cancer patients and for the early diagnosis and prediction of COVID-19 health risks.
