Tuition and Financial Aid

We know that pursuing our graduate data science programs degrees require a commitment of time, resources and finances. The following chart lists tuition and fees for students according to the semester they begin a program. Tuition rates will remain the same for each cohort.

Please also carefully read the information below about scholarship opportunities and applying for financial aid. Students must complete a FAFSA and MAP to be considered for scholarships.

Tuition for the 2024 – 2025 academic year has not been set.

* After passing the competency exam, Ph.D. students will have opportunities for funding and teaching stipends that can offset the cost of tuition, fees and other expenses.

Health Insurance

** Meharry offers student insurance to all students for an annual fee of $4,307.96. Students may elect to waive the Meharry plan, but the College does require all registered students to have health insurance.

Scholarship opportunities for Meharry SACS students

There are scholarship opportunities available for students attending the master’s and doctoral programs at Meharry School of Applied Computational Sciences. Please be aware that students must complete the FAFSA and MAP to receive a scholarship.

Employer Tuition Reimbursement
Some employers reimburse employees for eligible college tuition. Contact your employer’s benefits manager to determine if you are eligible.

These are awarded from a variety of sources outside of Meharry. We encouraged you to search for scholarships and grant opportunities before being admitted.

Applying for financial aid

Meharry Medical College’s School Code: G03506

Students who are interested in receiving federal aid will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Meharry Medical College’s Application for Student Financial Assistance (MAP). Both applications must be completed annually while students are attending Meharry Medical College.

To complete the FAFSA application, you can go to https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa OR use the mobile app myStudentAid for Apple and/or Android. You can download the app through Apple or Google Play Store. Please have your FSA ID username and password to complete the FAFSA application. **If you do not have a FSA ID, you can create an account at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch.

Students who needs assistance with completing the FAFSA application, can contact Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) at 1-800-433-3243 Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. EST and Saturday –Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST.

The Meharry’s MAP application can be completed once the student is fully admitted into Meharry Medical College. The Office of Student Financial Aid will email students the link to complete the MAP application.

Once you have been formally enrolled in your program at Meharry, the Office of Student Financial Aid will begin the awarding process and will notify you by email if additional documents are needed.
